Video options in classrooms

Information is being updated on an ongoing basis!

TalTech uses Echo360 as the main lecture recording system. In addition, Logitech MeetUp cameras are used in some rooms to broadcast the lectures via Microsoft Teams or BBB.

If available, videoconferencing cameras can also be requested for other rooms without a permanent camera system. More information from IT Helpdesk (620 3333).

Classrooms with video capability

Recording- according to the technical solution used in the specific room:

Echo360: recording videos to Echo360 environment, possibility to automatically display videos on associated Moodle course page.
Extron: recording on a USB memory stick.

Live streaming - Echo360 one-way real-time video stream.

Videoconference [+] - possibility to use videoconferencing software (MS Teams, BigBlueButton in Moodle etc.) for two-way video communication.

Hybrid classroom [++] - for different types of hybrid learning scenarios. The equipment in the room allows to stream video of what is happening in the room (different camera positions: lecturer's desk, whole room, freely chosen area, etc.). The audio system captures room audio (including questions asked by students in the classroom). Students participating remotely can use voice and have his/her video displayed on the classroom screen. Hybrid classrooms have a touch screen, which can control the local computer and the teacher's laptop.

NB! The rooms listed in the table are auditoriums, unless the capacity is marked with a letter indicating the type of room:

G - group work room
C - computer classroom
L - laboratory
S - seminar room
