2.17. Creating websites for projects

When preparing a project proposal, the need to create a website or register a domain for the project must be considered and the corresponding resources must be planned. Notification is one of the mandatory activities in almost every project.

The creation of separate project websites is not mandatory for projects funded from research grants.

A project website is a place where you can associate your results with the activities and results of your research team, be visible to other universities and researchers around the world, be easy to find by keywords and thus ready to create potential new consortia.

You can create a project website:

  • on the webpage of your research group;
  • on the webpage of your department;
  • by registering a separate domain;
  • by using ready-made solutions.

When you start creating a website for a project, you should first find out if our university server has the WordPress option, for example. GUIDELINES OF THE MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE

One of the possible options is to contact the Information Technology Services, who will register a TalTech subdomain, which is very simple and can be linked to a Zone account. You must then register a Zone account, install it in a WordPress account, link it to the TalTech subdomain in the name server, adjust the settings you want, and build a project homepage on it.

NB! Project websites are not managed centrally, (human) resources must be found in the project for that.
