Kaugühendus FortiClient VPN / Remote connection with FortiClient VPN

Ülevaade

FortiClient VPN võimaldab TalTechi töötajatel ja üliõpilastel luua turvalise VPN-ühenduse ülikooli arvutivõrguga. VPN-i kaudu saab kasutada teenuseid ja ressursse, mis on tavaliselt kättesaadavad ainult ülikooli võrgus, näiteks sisevõrgu teenused, serverid, kaugtöölaud ja raamatukogu andmebaasid.

Teenuse kasutamiseks on vaja kehtivat UNI-ID kontot.

Tarkvara allalaadimine

Tarkvara allalaadimiseks võib olla vaja sisse logida UNI-ID kontoga kujul uni-id@taltech.ee. Androidi ja iOS-i rakendused saab paigaldada otse rakenduste poest.

VPN-i seadistamine Windowsis

  1. Ava FortiClient VPN.

  2. Vali Configure VPN.

  3. Täida seadistusväljad alloleva tabeli järgi.

  4. Vajuta Save.

  5. Ühenduse loomiseks vali loodud VPN-profiil ja vajuta Connect.

  6. Ühenduse katkestamiseks vajuta Disconnect.

VPN-i seadistamine macOS-is

  1. Ava FortiClient VPN.

  2. Vali Configure VPN.

  3. Täida seadistusväljad alloleva tabeli järgi.

  4. Vajuta Save ja sulge seadistusaken.

  5. Ühenduse loomiseks vali loodud VPN-profiil ja vajuta Connect.

Kui VPN macOS-is ei tööta

Pärast FortiClienti paigaldamist võib olla vaja lubada macOS-is FortiClienti võrgu laiendus.

  1. Ava Settings.

  2. Mine General > Login Items & Extensions.

  3. Keri jaotiseni Extensions.

  4. Vajuta Network extensions rea juures olevale infoikoonile.

  5. Luba fortiTray.app.

VPN-i seadistamine iPhone'is ja iPadis

  1. Ava FortiClient VPN rakendus.

  2. Vajuta Add VPN.

  3. Täida seadistusväljad alloleva tabeli järgi.

  4. Vajuta Save.

  5. Ühenduse loomiseks vali loodud VPN-profiil ja vajuta Connect.

  6. Kui küsitakse, autendi oma UNI-ID kontoga.

FortiClient VPN-i paigaldamine Linuxis

Linuxis kasuta TalTechi jagatud VPN-only paigalduspakette. Graafilises töölauakeskkonnas on soovitatav paigaldada pakett topeltklõpsuga.

  1. Laadi alla oma Linuxi distributsioonile sobiv pakett: FortiClient VPN Linuxile (.deb) või FortiClient VPN Linuxile (.rpm).

  2. Ava allalaaditud fail failihalduris topeltklõpsuga.

  3. Kui avaneb tarkvarakeskus või paketipaigaldaja, vali Install ja sisesta vajadusel administraatori parool.

  4. Pärast paigaldamist ava FortiClient VPN rakenduste menüüst.

Kui topeltklõpsuga paigaldamine ei tööta

Ava terminal allalaaditud faili kaustas ja kasuta sobivat käsku.

Ubuntu, Debian või Linux Mint (.deb):

sudo apt install ./forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.5411_amd64.deb

Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux või CentOS Stream (.rpm):

sudo dnf install ./forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.5411_x86_64.rpm

Kui kasutad mõnda muud distributsiooni või paigaldamine ei õnnestu, kontrolli toetatud operatsioonisüsteeme Fortineti Linuxi allalaadimislehelt.

VPN-i seadistamine Linuxis

  1. Ava FortiClient.

  2. Vali Configure VPN või lisa uus VPN-ühendus.

  3. Sisesta allolevad ühenduse seaded.

  4. Salvesta profiil.

  5. Vali loodud profiil ja vajuta Connect.

  6. Autendi oma UNI-ID kontoga. Kui küsitakse, kinnita sisselogimine mitmikautentimisega.

Kui VPN-ühenduse loomine ei õnnestu, kontrolli esmalt, et serveri aadress on vpn.taltech.ee, port on 443 ja SSO on sisse lülitatud. Kui probleem püsib, pöördu IT kasutajatoe poole.

Overview

FortiClient VPN allows TalTech employees and students to create a secure VPN connection to the university network. Through VPN, you can access services and resources that are normally available only from the university network, such as internal services, servers, Remote Desktop and library databases.

A valid UNI-ID account is required.

Software download

Downloading the software may require signing in with your UNI-ID account in the format uni-id@taltech.ee. Android and iOS apps can be installed directly from the app stores.

  1. Open FortiClient VPN.

  2. Select Configure VPN.

  4. Click Save and close the configuration window.

  5. To connect, select the VPN profile and click Connect.

If VPN does not work on macOS

After installing FortiClient, you may need to enable the FortiClient network extension in macOS.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Go to General > Login Items & Extensions.

  3. Scroll to Extensions.

  4. Click the information icon next to Network extensions.

  5. Enable fortiTray.app.

Setting up VPN on iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the FortiClient VPN app.

  2. Tap Add VPN.

  3. Fill in the settings according to the table below.

  4. Tap Save.

  5. To connect, select the VPN profile and tap Connect.

  6. When prompted, authenticate with your UNI-ID account.

Installing FortiClient VPN on Linux

On Linux, use the TalTech-provided VPN-only installation packages. In a graphical desktop environment, the recommended method is to install the package by double-clicking it.

  1. Download the package suitable for your Linux distribution: FortiClient VPN for Linux (.deb) or FortiClient VPN for Linux (.rpm).

  2. Open the downloaded file in the file manager by double-clicking it.

  3. If the software center or package installer opens, select Install and enter the administrator password if prompted.

  4. After installation, open FortiClient VPN from the applications menu.

If double-click installation does not work

Open Terminal in the folder where the file was downloaded and use the appropriate command.

Ubuntu, Debian or Linux Mint (.deb):

sudo apt install ./forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.5411_amd64.deb

Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS Stream (.rpm):

sudo dnf install ./forticlient_vpn_7.4.3.5411_x86_64.rpm

Setting up VPN on Linux

  1. Open FortiClient.

  2. Select Configure VPN or add a new VPN connection.

  3. Enter the connection settings shown below.

  4. Save the profile.

  5. Select the new profile and click Connect.

  6. Authenticate with your UNI-ID account. Approve multifactor authentication if prompted.

Support

If the VPN connection does not work, first check that the server address is vpn.taltech.ee, the port is 443 and SSO is enabled. If the issue persists, contact IT support.
