Screencast of exam
Screencasting
The student can be asked to record a screen video during the exam.
Whatever software the students use for screen recording, they can save the files to their computer first, then upload them (for example to OneDrive), and make them available to the lecturer. The files should be deleted by the end of the semester at the latest. The disadvantage of this solution is that the video recordings can be processed. Therefore, we recommend recording during streaming (e.g. Teams Live event), as these recordings are more difficult to process.
Software | Possibilities |
---|---|
The video is immediately saved to MS Sharepoint and the recording can be easily shared with the educator. | |
Skype | The student must download the recording to their computer first, then upload it (for example to OneDrive), and give the educator access rights. |
Screencast-O-Matic | The free version allows you to record a video image and a screen simultaneously for 15 minutes. |
Open Broadcaster Software | You can record both video and screen at the same time. |
QuickTime Player | You can record a screen or a video image. |
Disadvantages
To prevent the circulation of recordings with exam questions, the test should take place for all students simultaneously. If there are several exam tests, create an unique test for each of the exams.
Conditions for implementing exam screencasting
Written consent must be requested from students.
If the student does not agree to screencasting, another way of taking the exam must be guaranteed following the current arrangements of studies.
Students may be asked to delete the exam recording by the end of the semester at the latest.
