Reading and setting up TalTech emails

Starting from October 15, 2024, it will no longer be allowed to forward Tallinn University of Technology emails to personal or other external email addresses. Emails used for work and study activities can only be accessed through the TalTech mailbox, either via the link mail.taltech.ee or by setting up Outlook or an email application on your device. Below, you will find setup instructions for your preferred email solution.

titleDiscontinuation of email forwarding

If you are currently using email forwarding, you can find instructions here on how to disable it yourself before the restriction takes effect.

  1. Log in to the university's email environment at mail.taltech.ee.

  1. Next, you can access the settings by either clicking the following link: https://outlook.office.com/mail/options/mail/forwarding/forwardingOption (which takes you directly to the correct settings) or by searching for the gear icon in the top right menu labeled Settings.

  1. Open the Outlook or Android email app that you previously downloaded on your phone.

Note! Office365 cloud service and the Android email app will request permission. The IT department has not configured these services. By granting permission, we do not gain access to your phone or its contents; however, it does allow remote wipe (factory reset) capabilities through the cloud service. We only perform this action at the user's request.

If you do not wish to grant permission, you will need to use an alternative email app, such as the mobile Outlook app.
