Creating a new TalTech Moodle course

If a subject-teacher pair has been created for you in SIS, you can use the MOIS integration to create a new Moodle page for your course.

In exceptional cases, when it is not possible to create pairs at the institute, send a request for a new course to moodle@taltech.ee, containing the following information:

  • Course code, title, language

  • Name of the lecturer(s)

  • Institute

For students to join the course, you must share the course link and self-registration key with them, which we will email you once we have created a new pre-configured Moodle course for you.

TalTech Moodle FAQ

Question

Answer

Can I use environments other than Moodle?

Yes, if the situation requires it. Please note that it is much easier for students to get used to e-learning if teachers use the same environments that can be accessed with Uni-ID and do not require the creation of additional accounts.

What should I do if I have never used Moodle?

You should start by creating a course page for your subject. To do this, see the FAQ 'How to create a new Moodle course'. To learn how to use Moodle, we recommend that you read the materials that open from the Moodle basics course. You can find Moodle instructions also on Youtube.
