TalTech Moodle LMS

TalTech uses Moodle as a learning management system (LMS). Learning materials, study instructions, and video recordings can be shared with students on a Moodle course.

TalTech Moodle is located at https://moodle.taltech.ee.

Creating a new TalTech Moodle course

If a subject-teacher pair has been created for you in SIS, you can use the MOIS integration to create a new Moodle page for your course.

In exceptional cases, when it is not possible to create pairs at the institute, send a request for a new course to moodle@taltech.ee, containing the following information:

  • Course code, title, language

  • Name of the lecturer(s)

  • Institute

For students to join the course, you must share the course link and self-registration key with them, which we will email you once we have created a new pre-configured Moodle course for you.

Instructional materials

  • Public Moodle course: Moodle basics (Raido Puust)

    • E-support (e-course) resources and activities

    • Advanced implementation of Moodle environment

Question

Answer

Can I use environments other than Moodle?

Yes, if the situation requires it. However, it is much easier for students to get used to e-learning if teachers use the same environments that can be accessed with Uni-ID and do not require the creation of additional accounts.

What should I do if I have never used Moodle?

Start by creating a course page for your subject. See the FAQ 'How to create a new Moodle course'. To learn how to use Moodle, we recommend reading the materials on the Moodle basics course. You can find Moodle instructions also on YouTube.
