MOIS FAQ

The course will continue to exist, but will be archived, after which no changes can be made.

No, you can't. An archived course can be used as the basis for a new course in the future, resulting in a copy for one, but without students.

Creating a new course starts in the MOIS environment in Moodle. Click here for more instructions.

Contact your faculty's instructional designer or email moodle@taltech.ee.

First of all, make sure that the subject-teacher pair has been created in the SIS (ÕIS), which is also a prerequisite for creating the course. Data is synchronised once a day between SIS (ÕIS) and MOIS.

All courses created through MOIS are automatically archived three weeks after the end of the semester. The archiving maintains course content, student records and learning analytics, allowing students to access the courses they have completed.

Courses are kept for 5 years, after which they are deleted.

Yes, access to the course and the learning materials therein will remain available to both students and lecturers.

Archived courses can be found in the course overview block of the Moodle desktop by selecting “Archived” from the sort drop-down menu.

Le us know your course at moodle@taltech.ee.

If it is not possible to create a subject-teacher pair in the SIS (ÕIS), you can request a new Moodle course by sending an e-mail to moodle@taltech.ee or to your faculty's instructional designer with the following information:

  • Course code, title and language.

  • The name of the lecturer.

  • Institute.

After the course has been created, it must be manually linked to the subject-teacher pair in the ÕIS (SIS).

In Moodle MOIS view, make sure that the course is linked with MOIS and the automatic registration of students is enabled.

Automatic enrolment in courses on Moodle (if enabled by the lecturer) will occur after the student submits their individual study plan for the semester (simply adding a course to the study plan is not sufficient).
