The student can be asked to record a screen video during the exam.

Whatever software the students use for screen recording, they can save the files to their computer first, then upload them (for example to OneDrive), and make them available to the lecturer. The files should be deleted by the end of the semester at the latest. The disadvantage of this solution is that the video recordings can be processed. Therefore, we recommend recording during streaming (e.g. Teams Live event), as these recordings are more difficult to process.

SoftwarePossibilities
MS TeamsThe video is immediately saved to MS Stream and the recording can be easily shared with the educator.
SkypeThe student must download the recording to their computer first, then upload it (for example to OneDrive), and give the educator access rights.
Screencast-O-MaticThe free version allows you to record a video image and a screen at the same time for 15 minutes at a time.
Open Broadcaster Software

You can record both video and screenshot at the same time.

QuickTime PlayerYou can record a screenshot or a video image.

Disadvantages

In order to prevent the circulation of recordings with exam questions, the test should take place for all students at the same time. If there are several exam tests, create a unique test for each exam.

Conditions for implementing exam screencasting

  • A written consent must be requested from students.
  • If the student does not agree to screencasting, another way of taking the exam must be quaranteed in accordance with the current arrangements of studies.
  • Students may be asked to delete the exam recording by the end of the semester at the latest.
  • No labels
