Eksamineeritava jaoks on tegemist peaaegu hariliku Moodle testiga 
Esiteks hoiatatakse teda, et midagi on teistmoodi kohe, kui ta hakkab Moodles testi tegema.
Lisaks antakse väga detailne ülevaade, mida testi tegemise ajal jälgitakse või mida kontrollitakse. See tekst varieerub vastavalt sellele, mida õppejõud või testi läbiviija seadistustes valis.
Seejärel teostatakse süsteemile üldine test, et kas arvuti omab kõiki vajalikke lisaseadmeid, kas internetiühendus on piisav jne.
Enne testi soorituse algust tuletatakse meelde tüüpilised murekohad, mis võivad testimist segada või katkestada
Peale seda algab testitava identifitseerimine. See on ainuke nõrk koht, mida senini suutnud tuvastada, nimelt ekraanile manatakse küll roheline ristkülik, mille sees ID-kaardi positsioneerimine peaks päädima automaatse salvestamisega. Tegelikkuses see juhtub automaatselt paaril juhul kümnest, ülejäänud kordadel tuleb eksamineeritaval ID kaardi tuvastamine käsitsi käivitada.
Süsteem tegelikult ei tee mingit edasijõudnud triangulatsiooni eksamineeritava näo ja dokumendipildi vahel. Väidetavalt sellisel tasemel algoritmide valmis tegemine, et vigade % oleks madal ka, olevat liiga keeruline. Mis loob eneses võimaluse, et enda ID kaardi asemel nagu võiks ükskõik mida ekraanil näidata. Kasvõi Alexela kliendikaarti näiteks (Testi tegemise järgselt lehel eksamijärgsete testitulemuste analüüsi juures saab selle kohta lähemalt näha, mida süsteem sellisest tegevusest arvab).
Kui dokument ka esitletud, jõuab eksamineeritav viimase leheni enne testi algust, kus näidatakse tema kohta kogutud biomeetrilisi andmeid, ning võetakse kinnitus selle kohta, et ta on esitanud kõik ausalt, ning et tema või tema vanemliku esindaja nõusolek on antud sellisel kujul testi läbiviimiseks.
Test ise võrreldes "tavalise" Moodle testiga väga ei erine, lisaks kuvatakse lehel Quiz Tools nimelist pistikprogrammi, kus on võimalik ka käivitada eksami ajal kalkulaator ning märkmete tegemise leht.

What happens during the test? |
For the student taking a Proctorio-monitored exam is almost like taking any other Moodle test. As soon as the student starts taking the test in Moodle he or she will be notified that the test is being monitored.
In addition, a very detailed overview is provided of what is being monitored or controlled during the test. This text varies depending on what the educator has chosen in the settings.
After that, a system diagnostics test is performed to determine whether the computer is equipped with the required additional devices and test the internet connection’s reliability.
Before starting the test, students are reminded of typical concerns that may interfere with or interrupt taking the test.
After that, the identification of the student begins. When the automated ID Verification setting is enabled by the exam administrator the test-takers webcam captures an image of the test-taker’s ID card. The image is then available for review by the exam administrator within the Proctorio Gradebook.
A green rectangle is displayed on the screen, inside of which the ID card should be placed for automatic saving. This step of the process does not always work automatically. In reality, this function works correctly in a few cases out of ten. If not working correctly, the ID-card identification should be started manually.
The system does not make any advanced triangulation between the face and the document image. It is possible to show any other card instead, for example, Alexela's customer card. See After taking the test page for more detailed information.
After the document verification, the student will reach the last page before the test starts, showing the biometric data collected about him/her. On this page, the student must agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
The test itself is similar to the regular Moodle test. In addition, the Quiz Tools plug-in is displayed on the page where the calculator and note-taking page can be run during the exam.
At the end of the test, all computer and camera monitoring is stopped.
