If a Proctorio interface is included in the course, its configuration for the test is as follows (assuming Chrome and the Proctorio Chrome plug-in are used)

Whether new or existing test settings are added, a new selection of Proctorio Settings opens, and when you select it, a number of options open up in the test settings that can be customized to suit the needs of each test. The name of the test is automatically supplemented (Remotely Proctored), which is also visible to students. The test should be limited in time, and it is recommended to set the test so that all questions are displayed on one page. This reduces the number of false positive error messages when displaying test results later.

Options

Recording options determine what information will be recorded during the exam (e.g. video, audio, screen, web traffic). Although it is possible, Proctorio does not recommend 360 degree room recording. This setting prompts the student to show you his or her test environment during an exam. It is rather a high stakes exam feature, so if it is not really necessary, avoid turning it on.

In addition, it is possible to make the computer environment less usable during the exam. Some conditions / restrictions must be met before the test can be started (e.g. open tabs in a web browser and/or multiple screens connected to a computer are not allowed, etc). Some options have several parameters (e.g. Force Full Screen, where you can choose how strictly this compliance is checked). Experientially, the Severe (0 seconds) option ends the test immediately when you start trying to go somewhere else from the test page.

When testing the functionality, Clear Cache also cleared the cookies in the Moodle session, which made it impossible to take the test. Until we know the reason for that, it is recommended to avoid this restriction.

Verification options help to determine whether the computer used during the exam meets the requirements at all (there is a camera, microphone, Chrome and Proctorio plug-in installed). Auto ID Check is used to make the person taking the test identify himself by showing ID.

We do not recommend to use signature verification.

It is possible to offer the students the possibility to use calculator or taking notes during the exam. All activities with these tools will also be recorded.

NB! All settings that can changed until the first student starts the test. After that, all options will be locked and can no longer be changed!
